Ice and such

We had a pretty wicked ice storm last week. The kids even got out for a day. I've included some cool pictures of the trees next to the house. The ice was about a 1/4 inch thick. Fun!

We spent the day off from school at an indoor amusement spot in town. We had the place to ourselves most of the time we were there! Very surprising.

Today is Mardi Gras. I'm so wishing I were in New Orleans! What fun! We've been feasting on King Cake the past few days. Soooo yummy! Tonight we might have pancakes for dinner. Clare and I talked about Lent and what we might "do" rather than what we might "give up" for Lent - she said the only thing she could give up would be chocolate and she definitely couldn't do that! :) We'll think of something tonight.

Still getting ready for the big birthday this weekend - ice skating with her buddies, tacos, slumber party. All good stuff. Can't wait! We're going to be exhausted!

Hey there!

Thank you so much for the wonderful advice today. I have never heard about the hand on the shoulder or arm to curtail the interrupting. What a clever idea!

Enjoy Clare's birthday week! Time just goes so quickly. Her birthday weekend sounds like it is going to be full of fun. I look forward to hearing a story, or two.

Sure do miss you these days....
