Pretty normal stuff

I've been pretty lame about writing in the blog lately. We've been busy with the normal stuff - swimming, soccer, church, etc. The kids did B/C champs in February - Daniel even made it to A/BB champs in several events. We're proud of both of them! Now that travel soccer has started, we're doubly busy with afternoon activities. Clare and I decided last night that we love going home and putting our jammies on after a long day (like yesterday.) We especially love curling up on the couch to watch American Idol or a good movie.

Tom has pretty much been nonexistent most of February and March because of work. Only 1 more week and we have another 9 months of relative rest. We're looking forward to a trip to New Orleans in May to celebrate my birthday and our 15th wedding anniversary. (Has it really been that long??!!) It's going to be soooo much fun! I love going on vacation with Tom. It's always a good time.

The weather here has finally started to warm up - all the flowers are starting to bloom. I can't wait for the trees to bloom. Our neighborhood is so pretty when everything is blooming. Summer will be here before we know it! Yea!

Happy 12th Birthday, Clare!

Today was a big day for Clare. Only one more year until the teen years - though it's already starting to feel like they're here! Clare got a cell phone - OMG! :) Here we go...

Ski Trip '09

Clare, Daniel, Sara (Clare's friend), and I took advantage of a day off from school yesterday to go skiing in southwestern PA. It was a great trip - if you take away the typical "battles" with an almost 12 yr. old. Both kids are getting much better at skiing. There were no lessons. Clare and Sara skiied most of the day by themselves. Daniel was stuck with me. :) He is such a speed demon (mainly because he doesn't know how to stop once he gets going.) I'm always trying to catch up with him. The temperature was probably our biggest obstacle - I don't think it got above 15 degrees. The slopes were in great shape with 3 inches of new snow and there were no lines for the lifts. What more could we ask for?? I definitely slept well when we got home and warmed up. BONUS: an hour delay for school today = more sleep!
Clare and Sara - ready to hit the slopes again - literally!
Daniel was really bundled up. Here he is on the lift.
