Christmastime is here
Decorating the Christmas tree is probably my favorite activity during this season. I love the lights. We all like to see all the ornaments. It's fun deciding which ornaments are "front of the tree" ornaments and which are "back of the tree" ornaments. The kids really get into looking at their ornaments - they get at least one a year - some which have their pictures. We laugh at the ones where they aren't smiling - those that were taken during Sunday school or at preschool. Daniel really wasn't a picture taker until recently.
We had a great time at Tom's office Christmas party. They had a fake horse race and the dancing was hilarious. There are a lot of really fun people that Tom works with, but I like the spouses the best! (right, Katie????!!) Fortunately, there weren't any Christmas party faux pas!

First Snow
I love snow. I really do! I only don't like it when it's bitterly cold out and the wind is gusting at hurricane force (like yesterday.) Snow reminds me of college days in CO. Oh, the memories. Today we are getting our first snow of the season. Yippee! As usual, the school system can't handle the 1-2 inches we've gotten, so the kids are coming home early. Hmmmmm . . . . You'd think they'd know a thing or two about snow. We get it every year. 
Anyway, I've put all the Christmas CDs in the stereo and have started mixing up cookie dough for Christmas cookies. I think I might even lug up the Christmas tree from the basement and start decorating. Clare and Daniel will be thrilled! What a great day!
Thanksgiving
This year for Thanksgiving we had a great time with the 'rents. Clare, Tom, and Grandma Linda ran in a 5K T-giving morning while the rest of us prepared the massive meal. Clare ran it in 29 min. - pretty good for a 10 yr. old! On Saturday, we enjoyed watching VT beat UVA. Go Hokies! That night we celebrated with my parents at a local restaurant. Awesome food, great company! I've included a few pics from the weekend.
